Well people, you must have figured, I’m a Nigerian and I live in Nigeria.
Most of the things you will be hearing from me, will all be based on my experience in Nigeria. It’s funny when I see how setting up a web site sounds to some Nigerian’s. Don’t get me wrong, but not every body in Nigeria has advanced so well in computer. Yes I agree, Nigeria is an untapped market as far as web solutions is concerned. So over the time, I will be explaining a few things about what’s involved in setting up a web site.
Yes I know, it’s not just meant for people living in Nigeria, but since I live in Nigeria, my examples will be based on my experience in Nigeria. Also, I intend to empower my fellow Nigerians to have a feel of what owning a website feels like.
Setting up a functional basic web site involves few steps. So our upcoming tutorial will be divided into these steps, with more emphasis on some companies in Nigeria.
Steps include:
Find a host
Get a Domain Name
Design Your Site
What I will be talking about here is in regards to web hosting.
You might be thinking, why choose a host, well as we go on, you will get to learn that the technologies your host offers determines what you will be using in your web site design. Some might equally offer you free domain names as long as you continue to host with them, there by removing the stress of registering it your self. Others might restrict you type of design, but we will all go further into that next time
See ya all next time
